Scarosso meets Dievole

Scarosso meets Dievole

Italians have known for centuries that everything needed for
a well-lived life is right there in one’s own backyard.
From cheesemaking in Emilia-Romagna to Neapolitan tailoring,
we Italians know about craftsmanship—and prefer it made close to home.

Luckily for us, Scarosso isn’t alone in this belief.
The chilometro zero movement has become a part of many company’s values.
Our winemaking friends at Dievole follow a similar philosophy around their own production.
At every stage, our brands are completely Made in Italy, a fact that we take a lot of pride in.
Not only does it help in giving our customers a true flavor of Italian craft,
working with artisans and Italian producers is a sustainable model
with less economic and ecological impact.

Four of our friends joined us at a vineyard in Vagliagli, just outside of Siena.
We were happy to share some time with Italian creatives in film and art,
Giuseppe Maggio, Sebastiano Pigazzi, Luca Finotti, and Antonio Colomboni,
who were able to experience Dievole’s hospitality and Scarosso’s shoes
on the 158-hectare estate in one of Italy’s most beautiful wine regions.

Paradise must look very similar to the day these guys had.
From long walks in the vineyards to a picnic set up among the trees,
the gentlemen were able to enjoy a leisurely afternoon
with a glass of chianti always within reach.
Tours of the wine cellar and production facility followed,
while the day finished with a dinner on the estate.

All the while, these four were able to style their Scarosso shoes
for every occasion their afternoon at Dievole brought.
From hikes between the vines to lounging in the sun to their coursed dinner and digestivo to follow,
our shoes were the perfect accessory for a day in paradise.

Scarosso paired each shoe to the wearer to really connect with them on a personal level.
From Antonio’s Chelsea boots to Luca’s boat shoes,
these four gentlemen were able to explore the grounds
while being connected to their own style personality.
Each shoe embodied a different aspect of these creatives:
a bit artistic, rugged, handsome, and (of course) Italian.

But that’s no surprise, is it?
At the core of Scarosso’s DNA is pride in Italian excellence.
To look out at the hills surrounding the vineyards and see the beauty of our country,
we were once again reminded of the extraordinary resources Italy has to offer
and how all makers are working together to bring it back
to where it started for many of us and keeping it local.
Scarosso is part of a community that knows that
everything we need to build a luxury brand is right here.
And we were happy to have our friends see it, too.

What Giuseppe, Sebastiano, Luca, and Antonio got to experience
was proof that outsourced materials and a big supply chain don’t make products better
they just make the end user lose their connection with the brand itself.
We’re lucky to bring these four gentlemen out for the day
and engage with our community in a new way,
all the while with a glass of wine in hand.

Really, it’s called Il bel paese for a reason.
And we’re determined to show others just how bellissimo it really is.
